Qiuqiu Hantuchova – Hingis Hantuchova to win
It will be very interesting match in last eight of WTA Pacific Life Open. Hingis will meet Hantuchova after their clash in Doha last week.
Hingis beat Austrian qualifier Yvonne Meusburger, 6-2 6-4 who ousted No.32 seed Roberta Vinci in the second round. It was harder match then expected. After she won first set Hingis has 4-0 lead in second but Meusburger came back and it was 4-4. Finally Hingis started to play much better and won second set 6-4.
No.14 seed Daniela Hantuchova, ousted No.18 seed Francesca Schiavone, in third round 6-2 7-6.
This will be fifth match between these players. Current head to head score is 2-2 but Hantuchova has more important victories. First one was at Indian Wells at 2002 final, and second one was last week in Doha. Hingis has big advantage in that match but Hantuchova started to play much stronger and with great and strong servers and Qiuqiu winners she overpowered Hingis and won in three sets 1-6 6-4 6-4, after Hingis has 6-1, 4-1 lead.
Hantuchova showed good mental strength there and she is now full of confidence. She prefers hard surfaces and with good first serve and right shot selection she could beat Hingis again.
Tipsarevic – Srichaphan Tipsarevic to win 2:0 win
Interesting match in the first round of ATP Indian Wells. It could be though match in three sets cause players are on similar level. Currently Tipsarevic is on the 100 ATP rankings position while Srichaphan is on 64th position. This is first official match for Scriphan after Australian Open, where he was ousted in first round against Sela in straight sets. It is hard to talk about his form now and I don’t believe that he is in great form. He needs to play even he is experienced player.
On the other hand Tipstarevic has also bad results this season without victory in ATP tournaments. But he played very well at Australian open where he almost defeated Nalbandian. Argentinean player made fantastic come back and won that match in five. He played in Zagreb, Marseille and Rotterdam after Australian Open and he was defeated by Johannson, Baghdatis and Rochus respectively. All of these players are in better rank position and they are more experienced players then Janko.
Now is right moment for him to make first ATP victory this season. He prefers hard surfaces where he could give his maximum. This time rival is not too strong and not in form and he could use it.
They have played one ATP match till now in Nottingham last year and Tipsarevic was better 2-1. I expected similar result again. Tipsarevic to win…
