26/2/05 09:30 - 10:00 5750 khz AM Station is probably XWP or the wop wop station. I tuned in at 09:30 to find it already going at a strong S9. Using my loop antenna I found it was on a 135/315' bearing from my West Sussex QTH. The signal was apparent from 5738 to 5759khz. At 09:40 the signal dropped, then there was a door bell 'ding dong' sound a brief period of silence then a hight pitched whine before the wop wop started up again. The recording (XWP_5750_26.2.5.mp3) starts at the 09:40 drop, you then hear the whine and the wop start up again, then you hear how the signal sounds on LSB and USB (key beeps of my radio can be heard when switching between modes) before hearing the end of the transmission at 10:00 Said to be a ocean radar surface analyser.
